MIMplus is expanding its portfolio of magnet grades for MIM permanent magnets of the NdFeB type
With the latest developments in metal injection moulding (MIM), magnets can now be manufactured in highly complex free-form geometries and with complex magnetisation. This opens up new possibilities for industries such as medical technology, electronics, aerospace and electromobility.

Advanced magnet technology: MIMplus sets new standards
MIMplus is currently the only industrial company in the world that uses the MIM process to produce permanent magnets with properties that match those of typical press-sintered magnets. This innovation is fundamentally changing magnet production, as the MIM process not only allows complex geometries to be realised, but also specific magnetic properties of the components to be achieved through free-form magnetic field guidance.

MIMplus currently offers permanent magnets with the following magnetic properties:

  • High remanence and coercivity: High-performance magnetic grades for demanding high-tech applications.

N48SH - The future of MIM permanent magnets
An ambitious goal for the first half of 2025: MIMplus is working on the development of the N48SH magnet grade with a remanence of Br > 1.36 - 1.42 T and a coercivity of HcJ > 1592 kA/m.
This would provide access to further high-tech applications and significantly expand the possible uses of MIM magnets.
