Investment, innovation and Europe’s industrial sovereignty took centre stage on 22 September 2026 at the second regional edition of “Choose France” in Berlin.
Initiated by French President Emmanuel Macron, the initiative brings together international investors, businesses and policy-makers to strengthen France’s position as a hub for business and innovation and to provide fresh impetus for investment and collaboration.
The event was organised by Business France and the French Embassy in Berlin. MIMplus was represented at this exclusive gathering, and we were able to take the opportunity to discuss current developments and future prospects for European industry with companies and decision-makers.
Focus on Franco-German exchanges
With the overarching theme of 'Investing in France – Strengthening Europe’s Economic Sovereignty', the event addressed key future issues facing the European economy. The agenda included defence and security technologies, artificial intelligence, robotics and automation, energy and decarbonisation, and industrial contract manufacturing and innovation, among other things.
Insights from leading French innovation ecosystems, such as Paris-Saclay and Lyon, highlighted concrete opportunities for businesses and investors.
High-profile panel discussions and keynote speeches provided valuable insights from the business world, offering exciting perspectives on the current developments, opportunities, and challenges facing European industry.
Networking as the basis for new perspectives
On the evening before the event, the Grand Est region organised an exclusive dinner, providing a special opportunity for personal exchanges with selected business and industry representatives.
For MIMplus, the main focus was on direct dialogue with other industrial companies and decision-makers. Face-to-face discussions and open dialogue can open up new perspectives, enable issues to be identified at an early stage and lay the groundwork for future collaborations and cross-border business relationships. Exchanges between German and French companies are becoming increasingly significant, particularly in view of the growing importance of resilient and efficient European supply and value chains.
We would like to thank Business France and the French Embassy in Berlin for their invitations, and the Grand Est region for inviting us to the exclusive dinner. We would also like to thank all our discussion partners for their valuable insights and open dialogue.
Our conclusion and key takeaway
Innovation stems not only from technology, but also from strong partnerships, personal networks, and a shared vision for the future of the European industry.
